Sort out your podcasts... trash the old ones

I am a hoarder. I hoard and I hoard. I have only ever once referd back to an old poscast. That wasn't to watch the entire thing again. No. It was to find out the name of a mouse mat featured in one thirty second segment. Despite this reality I insist on keeping for ever and a day all my old podcasts.

It was getting unacceptable. So I decided to change my iTunes settings to discard my old episodes when I have listened to them.

Changing this saved me an instant 9 gigs. I could save more but I'm dreadfully behind on many of my larger podcasts. The irony there is that most of these are news based and by now are completely out of date.

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm blogging like mad, because the situation of articles, photos snapshots and links on my desktop was getting untenable. I decided to simply sit down for 90 minutes and get the bulk uploaded and delete my copies. As Linus allegedly said "Only wimps use tape backup: real men just upload their important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it."
